The credit union difference starts with our volunteer Board of Directors democratically elected by the membership and extends to our member service niche – “High Tech, yet High Touch”. All credit unions are classified as non-profits as we do not compensate our Board of Directors, nor do we pay dividends to stockholders. Our “stockholders” are our members whose $10 share gives them complete membership rights. As a result, all profits are returned to the members in the form of higher dividend rates, lower loan rates, lower account fees, and additional products and services. The CHECU Team has made significant investments in technology to provide the membership with the best products available yet we still believe in the value of first class member service. CHECU strongly protects our uniqueness as a credit union, encouraging members to take advantage of all our products and services. Our strength is in our membership, with more of you feeling like a family then simply a credit union member. We have had the privilege of holding your newborn children to holding the hand of a recent widower and truly appreciate the trust you place in us.
