Founded in 1973 by employees of the Chambersburg Hospital and chartered in January 1973 by the Pennsylvania Department of Banking, CHE Credit Union has served the financial needs of healthcare employees for more than 35 years. Originally CHE Credit Union (Chambersburg Hospital Employees Credit Union), it was located in several small offices throughout the Chambersburg Hospital. Over the years as additional healthcare employee groups joined the credit union, it was decided to change the name of the credit union to better reflect its’ entire membership. In April 1996, the credit union’s new name became Community of Healthcare Employees Credit Union and in June of 2001 the credit union opened a new main office at 414 Phoenix Drive in Chambersburg. CHECU consists of healthcare employees, volunteers, and their family members in Franklin, Fulton, and Cumberland Counties and operates as a full service financial institution that exists to serve the financial needs of its’ members. |
