Credit Disability Insurance through CUNA Mutual covers the monthly loan payment (up to $850) in the event the borrower is unable to work due to disability/illness. There is a 14 day waiting period to file a claim. However, an approved claim will pay retroactive back to the first day off work. Many members are thankful to have such coverage during an unexpected gall bladder surgery to a bout with breast cancer to a serious vehicle accident. Borrower must work a minimum of 25 hours a week and be under the age of 65 to qualify for credit disability insurance.
