1. Always choose credit when making purchases – CHECU’s card will not work if you select debit. By selecting credit, your transaction will still come out of your share draft checking account.
2. Only use your four digit PIN to access cash at ATMs.  Members can not get cash back at point of sale/point of purchase.
3. The card is accepted worldwide where the VISA logo is displayed
4. Look for the maroon CU$ logo to find ATMs that are surcharge fee nationwide or click here to find an ATM near you.
5. Do not rely on the balance inquiry function at an ATM.  Call OnCall 24 Audio Teller (717-709-1920 option 7) for your balance, check it online, or review your account with a CHECU team member.
6. Your CHECU VISA Debit Card can only be used to access your share draft checking account. 
7. Keep accurate records of purchases and transactions, as some merchants delay processing by a day or two.
8. Use Verified By Visa when making online purchases
9. Manage posted VISA transactions through Home Branch online banking
10. Notify the credit union if you are planning to travel or make unusual purchases, as the credit union uses a sophisticated fraud detection software to protect your account
11. Make sure the credit union has your most up to date contact information.  Keeping your information current allows the credit union team to contact you in a timely manner regarding your debit card account.
